Photo Contest HK announces 15 Finalists – Vote Now!

Photo Contest HK received over 1,600 photo submissions in less than a month! 15 finalists were selected by a panel from the Organizing Committee of Photo Contest HK, as well as with guest judge Former Magnum Photographer Simon Wheatley.

The finalists have been placed on the photocontest.hk website and is members of the public are welcome to vote for their favourite photo among the 15. Voting period ends 3rd June.

Photo Contest HK as part of the WYNG Photography Project intends to stimulate discussion and encourage social responsibility on important issues in Hong Kong through PHOTOGRAPHY – the theme for the first phase of PHOTO CONTEST HK is Poverty in the Midst of Plenty. The winner, first runner-up and second runner-up would receive HK$20,000, HK$10,000 and HK$5,000.

Photo Contest HK intends to set up a photo library, where the images are granted Creative Commons licenses, so photographs can be used for lectures and promotion of non- commercial nature with appropriate attribution, as well as being a photographic history of Hong Kong.
