
WMA OPEN 2018 “TRANSITION” CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
(Hong Kong: 24 April 2018) The WMA Open 2018 calls for images under the theme of
“Transition” in Hong Kong from every member of the public. From 24 April to 31 May
2018 (Deadline for submission: 23:59 Hong Kong time; GMT +8:00), submit your images
to the WMA Open photo contest and stand to win prizes including cash and professional
development experiences as winners!
The WMA Open was created to serve as a public platform for discussion and a
springboard for social transformation. Images submitted must relate to the theme,
“Transition”, and be created in Hong Kong. Participant can upload a series of work, up to
three images, to the WMA Open photo contest website.
A panel of judges, involving WMA Masters 2017/18 winner YIM Sui-fong, WMA Masters
2016/17 winner Wei Leng TAY, and WMA Masters 2013/14 finalist Tommy FUNG, will
select 10 finalists who will be offered a number of professional development
opportunities coached by experienced photographer/artist. Out of the finalists, three will
be winners of this cycle and each receiving a cash prize of HK$12,000 as encouragement.
Finalists will be announced in June 2018, and may also have the chance to showcase their
works at future WMA exhibitions.
