Archives: Responsibility, Accountability, Provenance
‘What are archives’? Archives have the distinctive traceable history of ownership (provenance), and within which they are contextually related, regardless of formats. While the word ‘archives’ is used loosely in today’s technologically driven society, what are the primary functions, responsibilities and accountabilities of the Archives? This seminar uses different examples of archives around the world to share their important values of identity, responsibilities, accountabilities and evidence, and to discuss how to use archives for our own research.
