Is Artificial Intelligence a threat or opportunity for our society? How will AI affect the way we make decisions, carry out our daily tasks and interact with each other?

Corpus Christi College of the University of Cambridge, Philomathia Foundation and WYNG Foundation co-hosted the WYNG Philomathia Machine Learning/AI Competition 2018-19 to encourage AI initiatives in Hong Kong’s upper secondary students and promote the understanding of AI in our daily lives using strawberry sorting as the theme.

This exhibition showcases the impressive innovativeness, curiosity and ability of self-learning of these students, who have demonstrated how AI technology can be integrated into everyday life to improve the quality of our lives and make us more productive.

Exhibition period from 24 August to 20 September 2019 (except for Mondays).

7/9 (Sat)
11am - 1pm Compose Art with Artificial Intelligence - AI Workshop for Beginners

Location: WMA Space, 8/F, Chun Wo Commercial Centre, 23-29 Wing Wo Street, Central, Hong Kong

Participants: Senior high school students (F.4 – F.6) and university students
*Successful applicants need to bring their own laptop to the workshop
Registration: forms.gle/U6us9Ziambj9AxHC7

For years, the conventional wisdom about robots was that while they are taking over repetitive, routine jobs, at least they are not creative – we will always have art and music to ourselves, right? Wrong.

Artificial intelligence, or AI, has also been programmed to recognize elements of art created by humans and then to create its own.

In this workshop, we will learn how to use deep learning to compose images in the style of another image (ever wish you could paint like Picasso or Van Gogh?) This is known as neural style transfer!  No coding experience is required. Everything will be web-based. Welcome to all, art students especially.

Participants need to bring their own laptop to the workshop.
