WMA Masters 2017/18 – Transition Announcement of Finalists

The WMA Masters is pleased to announce nine finalists for its 2017/18 award on the theme TRANSITION.

Finalists’ photographic works, responding to the theme in the context of Hong Kong, will be exhibited at the Hong Kong Central Library from 14th to 24th April 2018. Hong Kong based C&G Artpartment will curate the exhibition while the WMA will host a series of theme-related public engagement activities during the exhibition period. The winner of the WMA Masters will be announced at the exhibition on 14th April 2018.  

The WMA Masters’ international panel of judges comprises industry leaders in photography, visual arts, publishing, and the non-profit sector. They include Zoher ABDOOLCARIM, Jacqueline FRANCIS, Yumi GOTO, Kevin W.Y. LEE, LEUNG Po-shan Anthony, Gladys LI, SC, JP and Sandra S. PHILLIPS.

The WYNG Media Award (WMA) is a series of programmes developed to spark discussions of socially-relevant issues of great importance to Hong Kong through visual images and foster positive change.  They include WMA Masters, WMA Commission, WMA Open, WMA Student and WMA Film.  The programmes have been encouraging dialogues through selected annual themes, including “Poverty”, “Air”, “Waster”,  “Identity” and “Mobility” in the past.  The theme for the current cycle is “Transition”.

WMA is a WYNG Foundation initiative.
